Chemistry IGCSE Cambridge online classes

Expert online Chemistry tuition for Cambridge International (CAIE) IGCSE — covering every topic from the 0620 syllabus with exam-focused teaching.

How we teach Chemistry

Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry (0620) gives students their first real command of how matter behaves. Before any of that matters, though, there is a decision to understand — and it is the single most consequential thing about this syllabus.

Core or Extended is a grade ceiling, not a difficulty setting. Entered for Core, a student sits Papers 1 and 3 and the highest grade available to them is a C. Entered for Extended, they sit Papers 2 and 4 and the full A* to G range is open. That entry decision is usually made by the school, sometimes earlier than families expect, and it quietly determines what your child can walk away with no matter how hard they work in the exam hall. A great deal of our Chemistry Cambridge IGCSE online tuition is about getting students ready to be entered for Extended, and then coping with it once they are.

The syllabus was restructured for 2026, so anyone sitting from this year forward is on revised content — worth checking that your child’s notes and past-paper practice match. It runs from states of matter, atomic structure and bonding through stoichiometry and the mole, into electrochemistry, energetics, acids and bases, the Periodic Table and metals, then out to the chemistry of the environment and organic chemistry. Every candidate, whichever tier, also sits a practical component: either Paper 5, a real laboratory test, or Paper 6, the written Alternative to Practical. Both are worth the same 20%.

For students learning with us online, Paper 6 is usually the route their centre offers, and it rewards something specific: not lab technique, but the ability to read an experiment on paper — spot the variable that wasn’t controlled, read a burette scale correctly, explain why a result is anomalous rather than just noting that it is. Those are teachable marks, and they are the ones careful candidates collect while others guess.

Classes are live and capped small, matched to each student’s tier so the chemistry is always stretching but never out of reach.

Frequently asked questions

Core or Extended for IGCSE Chemistry 0620?

Extended is the route for anyone considering A Level sciences — it covers the full grade range and the added content later study assumes. Core suits students consolidating at grades C to G. We recommend a route after the first fortnight of classes and can switch students well before entries close.

How is the practical assessed in 0620?

Through Paper 5, a practical test, or Paper 6, the written Alternative to Practical — both worth 20%. Titrations, rates experiments, tests for ions and gases and error reasoning recur every series, so we rehearse those exact formats from past papers rather than teaching lab work abstractly.

Is IGCSE Chemistry important for medicine?

Very. The pre-medical pathway in Pakistan runs through Chemistry at A Level, and the IGCSE grade is the first signal of readiness. An Extended-route A or A* in 0620 makes the A Level step manageable; we teach with that transition explicitly in view.

Has the 0620 syllabus changed recently?

Yes — Cambridge restructured the syllabus for 2026, so anyone sitting from this year forward is on revised content. It is worth checking that your child's notes and past-paper practice match the current version, because older material still circulates widely online. Our teaching works from the current specification document.

Is Cambridge IGCSE 0620 the same as O Level Chemistry 5070?

Same subject at the same stage, different routes. 5070 is the O Level syllabus with a single tier for all candidates; 0620 is the IGCSE with Core and Extended tiers. IBCC and universities treat them as equivalent, so follow whichever your school enters — and we prepare students for both.

What are the fees and how do we begin?

Rs 19,000 per month per subject for group classes, Rs 3,500 per class for 1-to-1, 20% off three or more subjects and 10% off for siblings. Start with a free demo class — WhatsApp us and we will place your child with the right group within a day.
