How we teach Mathematics

Cambridge A Level Mathematics (9709) is built from modular components — Pure Mathematics 1 and 2 alongside Mechanics and Probability & Statistics — giving the course a clear, building-block structure. Our teaching takes students through each strand methodically, then shows how they connect.

The pure core develops algebra, functions, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, calculus and the rest of the analytical toolkit, while Mechanics applies it to forces and motion and Probability & Statistics to data and chance. Because Cambridge rewards precise, fully justified working, we focus on method and proof as much as the final answer, drilling the layout and rigour that protect marks under pressure.

Classes are live and capped small, so every student’s working is checked closely and misconceptions are fixed before they harden into habits.

Mechanics or Statistics — which optional papers should my child take?

Every 9709 student sits Pure 1, Pure 3 and Probability and Statistics 1. The real choice is the fourth paper: Mechanics suits engineering and physics directions, while the second Statistics paper suits economics, business and social-science routes. We advise in week one, and entries are finalised much later.

Can my child take AS first and A2 the next year?

Yes — 9709 can be taken staged, sitting AS papers first with marks carried forward, or linearly in one series. Staged suits most Pakistani school calendars and lowers the stakes of any single session. We plan the entry route with each family at the start.

How big is the jump from O Level or IGCSE maths?

Significant — the first term stands or falls on algebraic fluency. We open the year with a bridging phase that hardens algebra, surds, trigonometry and functions before calculus builds on them. Students who join in August consistently find the spring exam season calmer than late joiners.

What do A Level Maths classes cost?
